March Spring Clean

It is officially Spring time! Time to clean house and body.  I am starting another week long detox.  I believe this go round will be much better.  I know what I am getting myself into.  Today I have had a banana and spearmint tea and a handful of raw almonds.   I realize that I really like coffee.  Even though I drink decaf I really like the flavor/taste of it.  As I was drinking my tea I thought  well it is just one week and time goes by fast.  I went to pilates and then happily drove to 118* to pick up my first allotment of food.  I was pleasantly surprised to see 3 chocolate dishes.  Oh Happy Day this is going to be a good detox!  I didn't even make it to my house I opened the chocolate bliss bar and ate it in my car.  It was so good!  I drove home and surprisingly enough I wasn't that hungry.  I kept thinking well I better go to the store and get more veggies and fruit.  I came home unloaded my food.  Lunch was pesto rolls with marinated kale salad. I had half of it and was full.  I checked my email and was craving something sweet.  I thought okay I will go to Mother's and get some fruit.  I bought strawberries and blueberries.  I still wanted more chocolate so I thought raw vegan chocolate balls.  I had had them at 118* so it must be okay.  I went to Nektar and I indulged in one very small chocolate raw vegan ball.  It was great and I had it with spearmint tea.  Did I mention this was the same tea I had in the morning?  I just kept adding water to it.  It makes a difference if you have tea in mug.  Ditch the paper cup and go for the mug.  As the day went on I started to look at dinner.  It was to be a rolled enchiladas with tomatillo sauce.  I started to get worried because it was wrapped in an flax seed wrap.  It was starting to get soggy.  I decided to have part of it since I only had 1/2 of my lunch.  After all that  I started to get ready to teach my yoga class.  Earlier in the day it had poured down rain but now the sky was beautiful and it was a crisp spring day.  I decided to ride my bike to yoga and it was delightful.  Keeping in line with spring cleaning the class was about twist and getting your insides to move around ( very good for digestion).  I road my bike home and still wasn't hungry but thought I want to eat and go to bed early.  I started to think how many times I eat when I am not hungry.  That is something to think about.  Eat when your hungry not just to eat.  So more hot water it is.  Later in the evening I had the rest of dinner and I still have lunch left over. I guess I can add it to tomorrows meals.  Finally dessert chocolate torte with sweet winter berries and of course I added more berries.  I love berries.  Monday today is a good day.  Looking forward to tomorrow and what other Revelations will transpire.  I am hoping this 7 day detox will bring me more physical and mental clarity, and provide me with the opportunity of self reflection to make me a better person, yogi, and friend.  Wow that's a tall order!  Happy Spring everyone!  xoxox
